Banya-Mamfe Baptist Health Center
The health centre started on September 19, 2013 on a rented apartment with the aim to meet the health needs of the people. It was an initiative of Dr. Emmanuel Arrey Tambe, a Vitro Retinal Surgeon with the CBC Health Services and a native of Manyu Division. At creation the health centre had ten staff. The supervising hospital, Mbingo Baptist Hospital (MBH) undertakes a doctor’s support visit to this new health centre every other month. In 2014, the health centre had 10 hospital beds. There has been a steady increase in the number of clients seen at the health centre since creation. Most of the cases seen are presented with malaria, hypertension, diabetes, cardiac failures, HIV and road traffic accident cases which are common. Patients seen are from all over Mamfe town and from the surrounding villages.The health facilities in Mamfe are centralized, making competition rife. There are six health facilities in a small health area; the Mamfe Health Area.Services Offered Diverse services are offered at Banya-Mamfe Baptist Health Centre. These include general consultation, laboratory, registration, pharmacy, treatment room where minor surgeries are done,
prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, antenatal clinic (ANC), deliveries and infant welfare clinic. The health centre equally admit very sick patients into two wards namely the General and the Private wards. There are also security services with one security guard who safeguards the clients, staff and
hospital assets. Location: The health centre is located in Banya, Mamfe Sub-Division in Manyu Division of the
Southwest Region of Cameroon.
