The health centre was an initiative of an indigene of Ndebaya village, Dr. Philip Ndum, a Hematologist (a former worker of the CBC Health Services). It was a way to honour of his father, Bigo Ndum of blessed memory. The health centre is thus named after his father (Bigo Ndum Baptist Health Centre Ndebaya).

The health centre was created to bring quality healthcare closer to the people of Ndebaya. The structure hosting the health centre was constructed in 2011 and handed to the CBC Health Services with two additional hectares of land. This gesture by Dr. Philip Ndum enabled the CBC Health Services to start offering services through Ndebaya Baptist Health Centre on December 19, 2011. The health centre had six staff in 2014 up from five at creation. A monthly average of 150 clients are seen at the health centre. These clients come from Ekok, Ekomanawa, Out, Eyumojock, Mbenyan, Akwen, Mbakem and Ndebaya itself. The bed capacity stood at 15 in 2014. There is a Doctor’s Support Visit from Mbingo Baptist Hospital, the supervising hospital every other month.
